Seven Preludes for piano
by Ivar Lunde, Jr.
Seven Preludes was written in 1989 in Norway for the simple fun of doing it. The language is free tonal and the form is somewhat influenced by the baroque suite. Seven Preludes may be regarded as a temporary return to the more tonal style of his earlier works - perhaps a necessary move on his part to reassess his stand on tonality and its expressive properties as part of his own language.
