Meditation at Dawn

The composer writes about the composition:

Early one morning, experiencing a silent walk on a mountain in north Baja California, Mexico with a group of people seeing the dawn in its infancy, someone read the text of what I felt I had to set to music, scored for human voices. The piano's early sonorities of the Major 7th were my reaction to the coming of the dawn, the birth of a new day. The mere spoken word, on top of the mountain, the cool air and the utter silence were powerful.
I shall never forget the moment..
